Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism Hosts Silk Road Tourism Promotion Conference in Shanghai
To further amplify the comprehensive effects of the art exhibition activity themed "Colorful Silk Road · Charming West – Exploring Gansu Through Art", fully showcase Gansu's rich cultural and tourism resources as well as its unique humanistic charm, accurately connect with the source market in the Yangtze River Delta, and promote attracting tourists to Gansu and encouraging them to stay, the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism successfully held the "Wind Blows Along the Silk Road · Affinity with the Pujiang River" Gansu Silk Road Tourism Promotion Conference in Shanghai on June 15. He Xiaozu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Bu Jian, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Yangpu District People's Congress of Shanghai, and Fan Zhen, President of the Gansu Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, attended the conference and delivered speeches.
In his speech, He Xiaozu gave a concise yet systematic and vivid introduction to Gansu's beautiful natural scenery, profound cultural history, and diverse folk customs, outlining for the guests present a magnificent picture of Gansu where the setting sun over the long river, glaciers and snow-capped mountains, vast deserts and gobi, and graceful mountains and rivers blend into one. He Xiaozu looked into the future of cultural and tourism cooperation between Gansu and Shanghai. He pointed out that Shanghai is graceful and beautiful, with the water towns in the Yangtze River Delta as poetic as paintings; Gansu is grand and magnificent, with plateaus and gobi as picturesque as artworks. The Shanghai-style culture is delicate, flexible, and elegant, while the Longyuan (Gansu) culture is vigorous, magnificent, and vast. He sincerely hoped that with this promotion conference as a link, the two places would give full play to the complementary advantages of their natural, cultural, and historical resources, cooperate to develop and create a number of excellent cultural and tourism routes and products that integrate classical and fashion elements as well as sightseeing and experience, strengthen the friendship between Shanghai and Gansu, explore new prospects for cooperation, and paint a magnificent picture of "each beauty shining brightly, and all beauties flourishing together".
In her speech, Bu Jian extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. She noted that despite the geographical distance between Shanghai and Gansu, the two regions share profound cultural connections and a long history of cooperative development. Bu Jian expressed her hope that this event would serve as a starting point for deeper collaboration between the two regions in areas such as cultural exhibitions and academic research. She emphasized their joint commitment to creating more distinctive cultural tourism products under the "Yangpu, Extraordinary" brand, and to promoting mutual integration and common development between Gansu's rich cultural heritage and Shanghai's unique Haipai culture.
Fan Zhen stated that "loving our hometown, giving back to our hometown, and building our hometown" have always been the unwavering mission of the Shanghai Gansu Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber will actively guide its member enterprises to participate in Gansu's development, helping more people to?discover, understand, visit, and invest in Gansu. This effort will strengthen cultural and tourism cooperation between Shanghai and Gansu, building upon past achievements to open new chapters in collaboration.
At the promotion conference, the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism awarded the title of "Silk Road Culture Promotion Demonstration Base" to the Fucai Dunhuang Contemporary Art Museum in Yangpu District, Shanghai, aiming to help Silk Road culture "go global" and expand its "circle of friends". The Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, together with Jiayuguan City and Dunhuang City, promoted their cultural and tourism resources. The Jinchang Mars Base 1 and New Oriental Walked (Gansu) Culture and Tourism Co., Ltd. introduced their study tour products, while Shanghai Qitu Cultural Tourism Group and Shanghai Huayi International Travel Service shared their experiences. Cultural and tourism authorities and practitioners from both Gansu and Shanghai expressed their consensus that they will take this promotion conference as an opportunity, rely on the rich cultural and tourism resources and complementary advantages of the two places, connect individual spots into lines and lines into areas, consolidate their circle of friends, and jointly draw a concentric circle for cultural and tourism cooperation between the east and the west.
