Three new international and two domestic scheduled freight routes have been opened. International cargo and mail throughput has reached the best level in history. It achieves “zero breakthroughs” in the export of goods such as lithium battery goods (Category 9 dangerous goods), “9610” cross-border e-commerce export transit goods, over-long and over-sized irregular goods, and flowers and other cold chain goods. The “flight and truck” schedules for import and export goods have been resumed.

International freight throughput is of significant growth.
Since Lanzhou’s “three-in-one” project of cross-border e-commerce, international express, and international mail has not been clarified since 2019, the original Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport International Express Center has been idle. Targeting to effectively solve the problems left over from history and speed up the revitalization of idle assets, comprehensive research and judgment were made and opinions were solicited from the port authorities and customs. Later, the functional layout and information system of the original International Express Center warehouse were upgraded in October 2022. Finally, Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport operated an international logistics supervision operation site and has also upgraded and renovated three designated supervision sites for inbound seedlings, inbound fruits, and imported chilled aquatic products, significantly improving international freight support capabilities. Since the operation of the new site, the cargo and mail throughput has been 2,150 tons by the end of November, a year-on-year increase of 174 times, breaking through the best level of international cargo and mail throughput in the past years.

The level of port opening to the outside world has been comprehensively improved.
The Civil Aviation Logistics Company focuses on air cargo and relies on the passenger routes of Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport to carry out bellyhold cargo business. It strives to build the Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport as the transfer core and Gansu International Logistics Group as the platform to realize domestic provincial capitals and key city airports. As the terminal’s comprehensive air cargo service network, the air cargo business reaches more than 100 cities in China. It cooperates with the International Trade Company in Lanzhou New Area Comprehensive Bonded Zone and freight forwarding companies to open the international bellyhold cargo business from Lanzhou to Bangkok and realize the regular operation of the designated supervision site for inbound fruits at Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport. It actively connects with joint charterers, airlines, etc., to rely on international full cargo and let the export of goods such as lithium battery goods (Category 9 dangerous goods), “9610” cross-border e-commerce export transit goods, over-long and over-large irregular goods, and flowers and other cold chain goods have a “zero breakthrough”. The “truck flight” business of air-land combined transportation of import and export goods will be resumed. It cooperates with the customs to implement the “declaration upon arrival, inspection, and release” model, which significantly reduces the time spent waiting for customs declarations and receiving inspection instructions, improves the level of customs clearance facilitation, further expands the port business model, expands the level of port opening to the outside world, and helps Gansu Province export-oriented economic development.

The airway is gradually improving.
With the introduction of transport capacity and service guarantee as the core, the company’s leaders led teams to actively visit Shenzhen airports and freight forwarding companies in Shenzhen, Haikou, and other places. They reached cooperation intentions on freight route development, security system construction, international business development, transportation capacity introduction, etc., and launched cooperation on the “Aerial Silk Road”. They introduced Shenzhen Horizon Express, Xinjiang Yaokun Logistics Company, and Gansu Port Logistics Company to open three international freight routes from Lanzhou to Moscow, Novosibirsk, and Almaty. They introduced Henan Airport Logistics Company and SF Airlines to open two domestic regular freight routes between Lanzhou, Zhengzhou, and Hefei and from Lanzhou and Ezhou. Efforts will be made to build a globally accessible, safe, and efficient air logistics channel network and accelerate the construction of Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport as an essential air cargo hub in the northwest region and a golden transit hub connecting Central Asia, West Asia, and Southeast Asia under the “Belt and Road” initiative.
