Participation of Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce Delegation in the 2024 China Brand Commodity (Central and Eastern Europe) Exhibition
From 6th to 15th June, 2024,Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce Organizes Provincial and Extraprovincial Foreign Trade Enterprises to Participate in the 2024 China Brand Commodity (Central and Eastern Europe) Exhibition in Budapest, Hungary
The China Brand Commodity (Central and Eastern Europe) Exhibition, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce’s Foreign Trade Development Bureau, has been successfully held for six consecutive years since 2015. In this year’s exhibition, over 270 domestic enterprises participated, showcasing products across six major categories: electromechanical products, hardware and building materials, new energy, light industrial products, textiles and apparel, and agricultural products. Nearly 8,000 professional buyers from Central and Eastern European countries such as Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Serbia attended the event. Under the organization of Gansu Province, a total of 17 enterprises to participate in the exhibition, occupying 15 booths, displaying a wide range of potential European bestsellers including automobiles, new materials, tools, agricultural products, textiles, handicrafts, and household appliances. This Exhibition attracts a large number of foreign business visitors for viewing and negotiation.
During their stay in Hungary, the Gansu delegation paid courtesy calls on Péter Irányi, President of the Hungarian-Chinese Economic Chamber of Commerce, and Chen Yiwei, Minister-Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Hungary. The delegation introduced Gansu’s investment environment, policies for investment, and promoted the province’s advantageous industries, inviting members of trade associations and enterprises to visit Gansu and explore opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. Péter Irányi expressed that the trade cooperation between Gansu and Hungary holds vast potential, and bilateral trade exchanges are currently in a period of rapid growth opportunities. It is imperative to deepen and expand trade in agricultural products from Gansu such as tomatoes, seeds, and miscellaneous beans, as well as Hungarian red wine, and to promote more competitive products into the European market. Chen Yiwei emphasized that Hungary is the only country within the European Union to approve the practice of traditional Chinese medicine. As Gansu is a major province in the traditional Chinese medicine industry, the Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary will leverage its resource advantages to facilitate deeper and more practical cooperation between the two sides in this field.
The delegation also conducted an on-site inspection of the Sino-European Business and Logistics Cooperation Park, focusing on the Hangzhou-Budapest Dedicated Overseas Warehouse of Zhejiang Airport Group. They held in-depth discussions with the logistics park team on various aspects such as the use of China-Europe freight trains, air cargo transportation, and shared overseas warehouses for cross-border e-commerce.
At this year’s China Brand Exhibition, the 17 participating and attending enterprises from the Gansu delegation engaged with 456 buyers, reaching various cooperation intentions with 55 foreign representatives.Specifically, 55 procurement intentions were established, with a total amount of RMB 14.75 million;9 sales agency cooperation intentions were secured; and 3 cooperation and investment intentions were achieved, which marks substantial outcomes that have positively contributed to the continuous deepening of economic and trade cooperation between Gansu Province and Central and Eastern European countries.
