From July 28 to August 2, the first session of the "Tianjin-Gansu East-West Collaboration Capacity-Building Training Program for Sci-Tech Personnel" was held in Wuwei City. The event was co-organized by the Gansu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, and hosted by the Wuwei Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology and the Gansu Institute of Scientific and Technical Information.

The training program served as a significant component of the Tianjin-Gansu Science and Technology Collaboration and represented a crucial initiative to enhance the professional competencies of personnel engaged in the East-West cooperation. Conducted through diversified formats including theoretical lectures, field studies, and experience-sharing sessions, the program focused on key areas such as comprehensive rural revitalization, agricultural technology innovation, and inter-regional scientific collaboration. Renowned experts from Lanzhou University, Gansu Agricultural University, Tianzhu Plateau Edible Fungi Research Institute, and other institutions delivered specialized lectures on topics including: "Understanding Rural Revitalization as a National Priority Through the CPC's Historical Mission and Core Values," "Developing Specialized Industrial Clusters by Harnessing the Potential of Cold-Arid Regions," "Digital Agriculture Technologies and Applications," and "Chinese Dryland Agriculture in the Belt and Road Initiative: Case Studies." Participants also conducted field visits to multiple demonstration sites including Wuwei National Agricultural Sci-Tech Park, Liangzhou National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park, Wuwei Oasis Modern Agriculture Research Station (affiliated with the Northwest Institute of Plateau Biology, CAS), Wuwei Desert Ecology and Agro-Meteorology Observation Research Station, Tianzhu Edible Fungi Industry Joint Sci-Tech Commissioner Station, the "Two Mountains" Practice Innovation Base at Babusha, and the Gulang Campaign Memorial Hall.

The participating trainees unanimously agreed that the training program was highly practical and relevant, featuring rich content and diverse formats that effectively addressed real-world needs. Through this training experience in Gansu, participants gained deeper insights into the province's development context while acquiring innovative approaches and methodologies for leveraging science and technology to boost rural revitalization and advance high-quality agricultural development. This initiative has played a significant role in further promoting Tianjin-Gansu technological collaboration and enhancing the endogenous innovation capacity of the assisted regions in Gansu.
