Lanzhou Starlight Children's Choir Wins the 20th Galaxy Award

On November 4th, the 20th Galaxy Award "Deep Earth Affection" National Excellent Mass Art Performance and Award Ceremony was held at Chongqing Qunxing Theater. Jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, this edition of China's highest governmental award for mass art attracted participation from 5,039 works (teams) representing 1,996 performance units and 295,000 mass art practitioners. Through preliminary selection, re-evaluation, and final review processes, 60 award-winning works (teams) were ultimately selected from thousands of entries submitted nationwide, with 10 awards each in the categories of music, dance, drama, quyi (folk arts), square dance, and mass choir.

The two musical pieces, "The Chile Song" and "Singing a Folk Song to the Party," submitted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Gansu Province, co-created by the Gansu Provincial Cultural Center and the Lanzhou Chengguan District Cultural Center, and performed by the Lanzhou Starlight Children's Choir, have won the 20th Galaxy Award for their exquisite artistic expression and profound cultural significance. This achievement has earned national recognition for mass art and culture from the Longyuan region (Gansu), demonstrating the effective outcomes of Gansu's cultural and tourism initiatives in nurturing high-quality artistic works.

The Galaxy Award, as the highest honor in China's mass arts sector, aims to recognize outstanding public artistic works that are deeply rooted among the people and reflect the spirit of the times. It is committed to enabling every ordinary individual to become the protagonist on the cultural stage. The Lanzhou Starlight Children's Choir's receipt of this award represents the highest recognition of their artistic exploration and innovative spirit. Moreover, it showcases the achievements of Gansu's mass arts development and marks a new level of artistic creation in the Longyuan region.
