On January 19, 2026, with a long blast of its horn, a dedicated train carrying 48 tank containers filled with nearly 3,000 metric tons of sulfuric acid slowly departed from Baiyin Station in Gansu Province, heading westward toward Xinjiang. This event marks the successful launch and official operation of the "Gansu-Xinjiang" sulfuric acid rail transport line by Gansu International Logistics Group in collaboration with Baiyin Group. The smooth departure of this inaugural train not only represents a historic breakthrough in the large-scale chemical logistics transportation for Gansu International Logistics Group but also pioneers the practice of long-distance, large-scale interprovincial sulfuric acid rail transport in the industry. This achievement injects strong momentum into the coordinated development of the energy and chemical industries in Northwest China.

For a long time, cross-regional sulfuric acid transportation has faced multiple challenges, including long distances, difficulties in controlling loss rates, high overall costs, and constraints posed by road transport. These factors have created a logistical bottleneck hindering the efficient development of the energy and chemical industries in Northwest China. Building on the recent stable operation of its road-based sulfuric acid supply chain business, Lufang Cloud Chain Company, a subsidiary of Gansu International Logistics Group, collaborated with Baiyin Group's Railway Transport Logistics Company to successfully establish this dedicated rail corridor connecting key industrial zones in Gansu and Xinjiang. Centered on railway transport, this dedicated line significantly reduces intermediate processes such as transshipment and last-mile connectivity compared to traditional road transport models. It not only effectively mitigates loss risks during transportation but also lowers overall logistics costs, while substantially improving transport efficiency and reliability.

According to reports, Gansu International Logistics Group and Baiyin Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in December 2023. Since the agreement was signed, the two parties have achieved multiple business collaborations, setting a new benchmark for fully practicing efficient synergy and win-win cooperation among provincial state-owned enterprises.

Gansu International Logistics Group will continue to optimize its road-rail multimodal transport plan, focusing on advantageous industries in Northwest China such as energy and chemical. It aims to continuously improve service quality and transport efficiency, actively explore the replication and promotion of this successful model to more categories and routes, and help build a logistics ecosystem featuring "dedicated trains + industry" and "dedicated trains + trade." These efforts will promote the efficient flow, deep integration, and regional coordinated development of the industrial economy in Northwest China.
