Gansu Province Accelerates Construction of Intelligent Manufacturing System
Recently, the Gansu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology issued the Notice on Organizing and Carrying out the Gradient Cultivation of Smart Factories for 2026, officially launching the province's gradient cultivation work for smart factories for the year 2026.
This year, the Gansu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology has introduced a dual-track support mechanism featuring “post-completion evaluation + financial rewards” for already completed smart factories and “in-construction subsidies + project completion evaluation” for ongoing smart factory projects. Through category-based policies and gradient cultivation, the department guides enterprises to aim higher and strive for better performance, continuously accelerating the pace of smart factory construction and promoting the digital and intelligent transformation of the manufacturing sector to improve quality and efficiency. Meanwhile, for the first time, third-party market service agencies have been brought in to collaboratively carry out the cultivation work. Through deep cooperation among government, enterprises, and service agencies, synergies are formed in key areas such as professional assessment, resource integration, and technical services, accelerating the establishment of a three-tier cultivation system covering provincial, municipal, and county/district levels, thereby enhancing the development level of regional intelligent manufacturing and industrial competitiveness.
From 2021 to the present, Gansu Province has carried out five batches of smart factory construction evaluations, cultivating 2 excellence-level smart factories, 27 advanced-level smart factories, 93 foundation-level smart factories, and 114 excellent scenarios. A total of 144 enterprises have achieved Level 2 or above in the intelligent manufacturing capability maturity assessment. In terms of the proportion of such enterprises in the manufacturing sector, Gansu ranks 17th nationwide and 4th among western provinces.
