With a long blast of the whistle, the train sets off! On May 29, the "Hami–Lanzhou–Vientiane, Laos" cross-border coke test train officially departed from Zhongchuan North Station in Lanzhou New Area. The train, consisting of 20 TEUs loaded with high-quality coke, passed through customs clearance at Mohan Port in Yunnan Province and traveled along the China–Laos Railway main line directly to Vientiane, Laos. This marks a successful new route for Gansu International Logistics Group in the cross-border transportation of energy bulk commodities.

This test train adopted a multimodal transport model. Leveraging its strengths in energy logistics and cross?border supply chains, Gansu International Logistics Group precisely connected upstream production resources with downstream overseas market demand. It selected high?quality coke from Hami, Xinjiang, completed one?stop cargo consolidation and marshalling at Zhongchuan North Station in Lanzhou New Area, and coordinated the entire process of transport capacity, customs clearance, and routing. At the same time, in light of the specific characteristics of coke transportation, the group optimized loading standards, implemented enclosed protection measures, and strengthened end?to?end safety controls. The transport route proved safe and efficient with lower cargo damage, ensuring a stable supply of industrial energy and raw materials to the ASEAN region. It also fully demonstrated that the transport model of shipping coal from Xinjiang to other parts of China via the China?Laos international corridor is mature and feasible, with clear potential for large?scale rollout and regular operation.

Gansu International Logistics Group will take this test train as an important opportunity to continuously optimize the layout of cross-border train routes, comprehensively upgrade its integrated cross-border logistics service capabilities, and steadily unblock the southern international transport corridor for Xinjiang coal. This will help accelerate the construction of a more balanced and robust opening-up pattern in our province and strive to create a new landscape of high-level opening-up to the outside world.
