On August 14, the first “Lanzhou–Lianyungang–Southeast Asia” sea?rail intermodal freight train, led by Lanzhou International Land Port Investment Development Co., Ltd. under Gansu International Logistics Group, rolled out of Gansu (Lanzhou) International Land Port. Carrying 44 containers of polyethylene and polypropylene weighing over 1,200 metric tons in total, the train ran by rail to Lianyungang, where the containers were transferred to ships bound for Vietnam, Pakistan, and India. With a total distance of around 2,800 kilometers and an estimated voyage of just five days, this service signals the debut of Gansu’s first “single?document” sea?rail intermodal customs supervision framework, forging a new logistics gateway from Gansu to both ASEAN and South Asia.

Centered on the "single-document" model, this business has successfully established an end-to-end cross-border logistics system that integrates "park consolidation, rail collection, and port shipment." Through a new approach featuring one-time local declaration, seamless single-document coverage throughout the entire journey, and elimination of intermediate customs transshipment, it effectively streamlines the previously cumbersome customs clearance procedures, significantly reduces overall logistics lead times, tangibly lowers enterprises' comprehensive logistics costs, minimizes the risk of cargo damage during multiple transshipments, and greatly enhances the stability and reliability of cross-border logistics transportation.

In recent years, Gansu Province has seen its export volume of chemical raw materials, oil drilling equipment, specialty agricultural products, new energy materials, and other goods expand year by year. As a result, the market has developed an increasingly urgent demand for a new logistics corridor directly connecting to Southeast Asia and South Asia. This train service, operating under an export-oriented sea-rail multimodal transport model, achieves seamless integration of customs supervision operations between the place of departure and the port of exit. It thereby opens up a logistics channel linking the coastal ports with the inland hinterland.
