Chinese premier urges boosting people's wellbeing during inspection tour in Shanxi

Chinese Premier Li Qiang urged efforts to continuously boost people's wellbeing in the process of promoting high-quality development and to deliver a better life for them, during an inspection tour in north China's Shanxi Province.

Li, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited primary-level government officials and ordinary people and extended Spring Festival greetings to them during his tour on Thursday.

As the first stop of his tour, Li visited a nursing home in the provincial capital of Taiyuan. There he called for efforts to enhance professional and vocational training for elderly care personnel to elevate the standard of care.

While visiting a smart agricultural park in Sanjia Village, Li underscored the need to develop an agricultural industry that is powered by sci-tech, eco-friendly and featured with high quality and good brands, and to accelerate the modernization of the agricultural sector and rural areas.

Li learned about the development of rural tourism at the library of Liujiabu Village, Xiaodian District. He also visited two families in the village who are living in difficulties to keep abreast of their conditions. Li urged local cadres to faithfully implement the Party's policies and lead the people to live a more prosperous life.

Li also visited a steel company and urged efforts to promote original innovation and serve the country through industrial development.

Acknowledging the socio-economic achievements of Shanxi, Li called for efforts to further leverage its strengths, remain innovative and pragmatic, and strive to break new ground in the country's high-quality development and modernization.
