Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce (MOC) Wang Shouwen visited the United States from April 2 to 5 at the invitation of the U.S. side and co-chaired the first vice-ministerial meeting of the China-U.S. commercial and trade working group with the U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Marisa Lago, the MOC announced Friday.

China is willing to work with the United States to actively implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen communication, expand cooperation and manage differences through the commercial and trade working group, and create a sound environment for trade and investment cooperation between enterprises of the two countries, Wang said.

Wang expressed concerns over issues including the U.S. Section 301 tariffs on Chinese goods and related investigation applications, generalization of national security, sanctions against Chinese enterprises, revisions of trade remedy investigation rules, two-way investment restrictions and unfair treatment of Chinese enterprises.

Both sides agreed to support trade and investment promotion activities organized by the two sides and cooperation activities in clean energy technology and women's health, explore ways to enhance trade facilitation cooperation, and strengthen communication and exchanges in the field of export control.

Lago will lead a delegation to China in the second half of 2024 at the invitation of the Chinese side, and co-chair the second vice-ministerial meeting of the China-U.S. commercial and trade working group, according to the MOC.
