The road south along the Yarlung Zangbo River carries a faint scent of wool as it winds into Kyimxi township, Gonggar county, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region.

There, a newly opened inheritance center for Kyimxi pulu, a Tibetan woolen fabric, displays undyed raw wool and traditional looms alongside creative cultural products such as scarves and bags. A zone designated for livestreaming marketing has expanded sales channels for pulu products.

In Xiuwu village, weaver Dekyi, in her 50s, weaves pulu on a traditional loom. "I started weaving pulu at 17. It's part of my daily life," she said, gesturing to the pulu garment she wears.

Not far away, weaver Pasang is a third-generation inheritor of a pulu weaving style that is recognized as an autonomous region-level intangible cultural heritage. He trains apprentices at his workshop, which now employs more than 30 workers and sells products to places including south China's Hainan Province. Government tax support and skills training, he said, have enabled him to focus more on the craft.

More than 300 of Kyimxi township's 587 households are skilled in pulu weaving. At the inheritance center's opening, Gonggar county also launched its first pulu-themed shopping event. The event used a centralized purchasing model that returned full proceeds to weavers, generating nearly 1 million yuan ($147,000) in sales.
