Gansu Logistics Group Helps Jiuquan Onions to Go to Southeast Asia
On December 1, more than 200 tons of onions loaded in eight 40-foot freezers transported by the Gansu Logistics Group's New Land-Sea Corridor Company traveled 5,800 kilometers across the ocean and successfully arrived at the Qingmiao Group Supermarket in Malaysia, and ended up on the tables of local residents.
It is reported that this batch of onions was shipped from Jiuquan, Gansu, and was transported by a fully cold chain rail-sea combined transport international freight train. It was transshipped via domestic ports, arrived at Port Klang, Malaysia on November 26, and was delivered to local supermarkets on December 1.
Jiuquan onion is a product of China's national geographical indication. It has a very high single heart rate, strong flavor, tender texture, firmness, high dry matter content, good quality, bright color, and good flavor, and is highly favored by the market. In September this year, Gansu Logistics Group's New Land-Sea Corridor Company, through independent storage and independent processing, sent Jiuquan onions from Jiuquan by high seas intermodal transport, and went out to sea through Shenzhen Shekou Port, and transported Jiuquan onions to the Thai market for the first time. This batch of Jiuquan onions successfully entered the Malaysian market, marking the first time that Gansu agricultural products have been exported to Southeast Asia through the New Land-Sea Corridor in an integrated transportation and trade manner. This has injected strong impetus into further expanding the path for Gansu's characteristic agricultural and sideline products to the global market, continuously consolidating and expanding the results of poverty alleviation, and effectively promoting the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas.
