The border ports of Manzhouli and Erenhot in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region saw 8,178 China-Europe freight trains passing through in 2024, with the total number amounting to nearly 60,000 so far.

In 2024, there were 126 China-Europe freight train routes running through the region, connecting 64 cities across 22 provinces and regions in China to 22 destination cities in 10 foreign countries.

480 China-Europe freight trains departed from Inner Mongolia in 2024, up 11.9 percent from the last year. The volume of transported goods totaled 49,000 TEUs, up 11.7 percent year on year.

Data from the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. showed that the China-Europe freight train service accomplished a total of 19,392 trips and transported 2,077,216 TEUs of goods, a year-on-year increase of 10.7 and 9.2 percent, respectively.
