Power generation by China's major enterprises up 1.4 pct in March
Power generation by China's major electricity production enterprises increased 1.4 percent year on year in March 2026, official data showed Thursday.
Total power output of these firms reached 802.5 billion kilowatt-hours last month, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
A breakdown of the data revealed that hydropower output climbed 10.8 percent year on year in March, 4 percentage points faster than the growth in the January-February period.
Last month, solar power output expanded by 10 percent year on year, while thermal power output increased by 4.2 percent, NBS data showed.
In contrast, the output of nuclear power and wind power shrank 11.8 percent and 17.3 percent, respectively, the NBS data showed.
During the January-March period, power generation by these enterprises totaled nearly 2.38 trillion kilowatt-hours, up 3.4 percent from the same period last year.
