In recent years, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has been actively exploring new paths for collaborative innovation and development under the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting integration of standardization, digitalization and informatization in key industries.

By sending relevant staff to attend annual meetings centering on international standards and encouraging enterprises to actively participate in international standardization activities, Inner Mongolia has been striving to engage itself in the formulation of international green standards.

To promote the citation, transformation and application of Chinese energy standards in Mongolia, in 2023, Inner Mongolia worked with China Oil & Gas Pipeline Network Corporation (PipeChina) to jointly carry out a research project on the applicability of gas pipeline standards in Mongolia, working with Mongolian experts to gather standards of the two countries in different fields.

At the same time, Inner Mongolia has implemented green and low-carbon technology standards and management models into key projects, carrying out extensive cooperation with Belt and Road partner countries in fields including green industry development, clean energy revolution, green technology innovation, climate governance and eco-city construction.

With measures issued to encourage enterprises to use green environmental protection standards in the design stage of overseas infrastructure projects, and to implement practical ecological and environmental protection moves during the construction and operation periods, Inner Mongolia is also looking to standardize the environmental protection behavior of enterprises in foreign investment and cooperation, so as to improve resource utilization, strengthen waste disposal, and underline the concept of green development.

In addition, Inner Mongolia has made full use of green industries to actively explore ways to promote new models of economic and technological cooperation with Russia and Mongolia in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry, by encouraging qualified enterprises to participate in overseas projects and promoting energy-saving and environmental protection products and services to "go global".
