From May 15th to 17th, 2024, the 88th National Pharmaceutical Trade Fair was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce and Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology organized over 100 participants, including representatives from 14 traditional Chinese medicine enterprises, drug dealers, and agents from Gansu Province, to attend and exhibit at the fair. During the exhibition, the Gansu delegation signed intentional purchase and sale agreements totaling 320 million yuan.

Themed “Building a New Medical Health Ecosystem through Innovative Integration,” this year’s fair brought together over 4,000 outstanding domestic enterprises from the medical and healthcare industry, attracting more than 150,000 visitors from over 30 provinces, cities, and regions across the country to participate in the exhibition and exchange ideas. The 100-square-meter Gansu Longyao Pavilion highlighted the “new, unique, and high-quality” features of Gansu’s traditional medicines, showcasing sections such as authentic medicinal materials, patent medicines, exclusive varieties, and healthcare products, encompassing over 450 varieties including astragalus, angelica, codonopsis, rhubarb, and bupleurum, demonstrating the advantages and latest achievements of the traditional Chinese medicine industry in Gansu Province. The Longyao Pavilion was bustling with customers who came specifically to see the exhibits.

Products from Gansu’s renowned pharmaceutical companies garnered significant attention from attendees. These included the leading product Xuanfei Zhisou Mixture from Gansu Pu’an Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., which shone during the pandemic for its remarkable efficacy; the star product Lulie Pill from Lanzhou Taibao Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., which stood out for its effectiveness; the traditional and secret recipe-based Zushima Plaster from Gansu Taikang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.; the BuFei pill (Special Lung-Nourishing Pill )from Licai Gansu Xifeng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.; the Ruyi Zhenbao Tablet from Gansu Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd.; and the health products from Baohetang. These “Longyao”brands from Gansu Province garnered widespread acclaim from customers.

During the exhibition, the Gansu delegation leveraged exhibition WeChat official accounts and mini-programs to actively promote participating enterprises and key products, creating a platform for sales channels, cooperation, and business opportunities. By the organizer’s “Magicine Showcase” and the large screens in the Gansu Longyao Pavilion, promotional videos were played in a loop, showcasing Gansu’s traditional medicine industry, its rich herbal resources, and the development status of its traditional medicine specialty industry. Over 400 brochures promoting the participating enterprises were distributed onsite to continuously attract buyers to discuss cooperation.

While exhibiting, the Gansu delegation also conducted research and promotion visits to enterprises such as China National Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center, HST Standard Technical Services Co., Ltd., Shanghai MicroPort Medical Robotics (Group) Co., Ltd., and the Shanghai Biomedical Technology Industrial Base (Zhangjiang Biomedical Base), sincerely inviting high-quality pharmaceutical enterprises from Shanghai to participate in the 5th China (Gansu) Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Expo and to visit Gansu for investment opportunities.
