Dunhuang Fresh Grapes Mark Their First Export to Iraq
On December 24, a shipment of 42 tons of red grapes, subject to supervision by Dunhuang Airport Customs under Lanzhou Customs, departed from Shekou Port and was transported to Iraq. This marks the inaugural export of fresh grapes from Dunhuang to Iraq.
According to Zhao Xin, Business Manager of Jin Sui Yuan Fruit Industry Co., Ltd., “The successful dispatch of this batch of fresh grapes is largely attributable to the green channel established by Customs for local specialty agricultural products. Since the introduction of the green channel, we have benefited from 'one-stop' services in the areas of declaration, inspection, and certification. This has considerably reduced both logistics time and costs while streamlining the customs clearance process, making it far more efficient.”
To foster the stable development of export activities, Lanzhou Customs has continuously enhanced its regulatory efficiency and service quality. In accordance with the General Administration of Customs' "16 Measures to Further Optimize the Port Business Environment and Facilitate Enterprise Customs Clearance," Lanzhou Customs has implemented online registration for fruit orchards and packaging plants seeking export approvals, thus significantly reducing processing times. Furthermore, through a combination of online guidance, on-site training, and in-depth company research, Lanzhou Customs has supported enterprises in improving internal management, ensuring product quality control, and providing policy outreach and technical support at the field level. Customs has also established a green channel for product declaration and local inspections, while offering 24/7 consultation and clearance services. These efforts are designed to optimize the business environment, assist companies in accessing diverse international markets, and expand export volumes.
"In 2024, the fresh fruit exports under our supervision have already exceeded 20,000 tons, marking a significant year-on-year increase," remarked Zhao Guanhong, Director of the Comprehensive Business Division at Dunhuang Airport Customs. "Looking ahead, we will continue to strengthen our regulatory framework, streamline service processes, invigorate market participants, bolster business confidence, and contribute to the high-quality development of the region's export-driven economy."
